"The" Bag

Crib...check
Stroller...check
Car seat...check
Diaper bag...clueless

I’ve registered for all the necessities already. By the way, thanks big sis for helping me at Babies R Us. The twins even came along by choice! My sis and brother in law asked them who they wanted to follow that day – w/ umma and emo at the store or with appa at Costco. They chose us! Woohoo! More time for me to spend with the niece and nephew.

One of the items on my list of to dos is to find a diaper bag. I know, I know...this is SO NOT important and Won thinks I’m a nut for even writing a post about this. I have 100 other things on my list which includes cleaning out our 2nd bedroom, but I find this more fun to write about! Might as well start my search now so I narrow down my choices and then go bargain hunting for “the” bag.

I thought it would be easy to choose a diaper bag, but I am blown away by all the different styles, fabrics, bells & whistles, etc. I want one that’s not too girly, so the hubs can carry it around without looking too silly. Plus, I think I’m on pink overload, so I’m trying to veer towards some neutral colors.

I’ve narrowed it down to several choices, so I wanted your opinions. Tell me what you think...advice on other brands...??

First we have the Stella McCartney for LeSportSac Mum Diaper Tote:

On the pricey side, but it’s 50% off right now because it’s from their 2008 Spring Collection. I like the colors, the fabric, and the different compartments. Plus, it looks like a normal purse.

Next we have the messenger bag from the Dante Beatrix line, which I fell in love with! They have several backpacks for kids which are super cute! I can totally see my niece and nephew wearing the fuzzy animal line backpacks when they start school. Maybe my next present to them? Gotta include the pic of the fuzzy monkey bag.

Storksak makes great diaper bags, and this one is very simple and almost doesn’t even look like a diaper bag.

OiOi is an Aussie brand, and they’re super popular in their country. I like the color combo on this bag...girly in a subtle way. Love the fabric on this, easy to clean, and I think the size is perfect.

And lastly, is the Fleurville bag which is the girliest out of them all. I see a lot of mommies carrying this line.

What do you think?

something that i found VERY VERY important. can the bag hang from the handle of your stroller??? cuz most likely, that's where it will be.

i love the fleurville, because i like that it's wipeable. i chucked the changing mat, tho, and used my own.

anything wipeable, big enough to hold food, extra clothes and diapers. and can HANG on the stroller!

i bought mine when sillie was about 2months old. before that, everything fit in my purse still :)

won will carry the bag, regardless!! he has to! it gets heavy!

i like the 2nd one and the oi oi one. so much fun! the last one is really cute, but i don't think won will appreciate my vote for that one.

I vote for the hot pink Fleurville (is there one with a big flower on it?) so I can make fun of W when I see him carrying it around. Seriously, as opposed to Sillie's mom, I don't really like the Fleurville. I don't remember a time when we had to wipe it down. And I don't like it hanging on the stroller - it gets so heavy and the stroller tips. Plus you end up throwing everything and anything in there. I hate that. I like the simple shoulder bag.

hi! i found your blog thru silliesmile's mom. i love your lil dolls and even though i have a baby boy..i'm so tempted to order a custom doll for him! anyway....i'm not sure you got your diaper bag yet but i LOVE my lesportsac diaper bag. you can get it at nordies or babystyle (they send out 20% off coupons which is great!)
