Peek a boo!

Her favorite game to play...

Sorry, my voice is super spastic and loud...runs in my family! It's really 47 seconds of the same thing, me repeating the same words. She's like an actual person! :P

Busy busy week again

I tried this post a couple days ago. I edited it and then switched computers and somehow it wasn't there.

2.5 weeks left before the big dohl. Woohoo! I'm excited for the big day. Excited for the in laws to finally see Lila after how long??? Excited for her to taste her first cupcake. Excited to see her in her first han-bok.

I've been sleeping late these days to finish everything up. The banner is done! Treat bags, toppers, favors are left to go. Big sis brought back the famous Hawaiian Shortbread cookies from her trip to Hawaii. I swear you can't just eat one. Have you had one...the ones shaped like a pineapple? Anyhow, they make shortbread cookies in the shape of a 1! How cute is that? Too bad they don't make them during Oct - Dec.

Lila is now in her big girl carseat. Here she is in her lazy boy. Roomy and comfy!

I'm always curious to see what she looks like when the hubs dresses her. She is in an outfit he chose all by himself, and he was so proud of putting that beanie on her. A little too pink for my taste.

Yay, Halloween is right around the corner! We'll be going to a Barnyard Bash put on by my church followed with some trick or treating around my neighborhood. Anyone wanna join us?

Her many faces

She's...

She's...

She's...

She's definitely...

Yup, that's her in a nutshell. I got a set of these rubber coasters for free at Artscow.com. You just pay for shipping. So head on over there while supplies last. I actually get all my prints there, and I love the quality. I decided to make another set for the grandparents. Then I wanted to get a mouse pad, a #1 Grandpa coffee mug, an umbrella covered with her pictures, and then I decided I'm not going there. Coasters is enough. They look a bit muted in my pictures, but they look much better in person. Now when I drink my Diet Green Iced Tea everyday, I'll see her happy, pretty, innocent, silly face :) ahhh my love!

On a cold Columbus Day

We went for a stroll this morning, and it was super cold so I went back home after walking a block. I put her in a thick hoodie, and took her to the post office to take care of some errands. Right as I was about to turn into the post office, I realized it was closed because of Columbus Day. I drove the opposite direction of my house to go to Goodwill in hopes that they were having a nice Columbus Sale, and then I made a u-turn after realizing her stroller wasn't packed in my trunk after the short walk we had in the a.m., nor was her shopping cart cover because it was being washed. I wasn't about to carry her in my arms, and I definitely wasn't going to put her in their shopping cart. I love Goodwill, but it's not the cleanest place in the world and I didn't have enough wipes to clean it down.

Sigh...a bad start to a cold day.

On a lighter note, the weekend was great! We went to South Coast, and I found nothing yet again. I did discover Oilily though. How could I forget about Oilily? I used to work next door to that store during my college days at Benetton, and I would always wonder who the heck shopped there? Ahhh...now I know why people shop there. Their clothes are so unique and so colorful and so happy! I went inside so anxiously to see if I could score something for Lila, but I couldn't bare spend that kind of money on something she'll wear for only a couple times. $68 for a skirt. $158 for a jacket...the cutest jacket I've ever seen though! I was VERY close, but the smart side of my brain kicked in and said to walk out.

I introduced toast sticks with cream cheese and kidney beans this week.

The curious little thing had a couple slices of this and devoured it. Kidney beans...that's another story. I tried mixing it up with sweet potato, but she wasn't too fond of that either. I'll have to revisit the beans again later.

Hubs was getting so antsy about his scores (fantasy fball), so I told him he needed to take Lila to the park to get his mind off such nonsense. She's looking more and more like the hubs everyday. The mini won!

The ultimate toy

I have several of these around my house and in my car and in my purse. I just discovered this a few weeks ago, but this is the ONE item that calms Lila down if she's fussing. It's the go to item and always, ALWAYS works like a charm. I never leave home without one.

The water bottle!

It doesn't matter if it's full or half empty (or half full for the optimistic ones). If it's empty, I noticed she doesn't play with it as long. With the whole plastic scare, I'm cautious about her playing with it too long. If she held it and shook it, it's one thing. But she has to constantly bite on the bottom of the bottle or the cap as if it's food. Wouldn't it be great for someone to invent a water bottle that's actually a toy? I've given the straw cup to her but it's not the same. It's def saved me several times from having the ultimate melt down in the car. Usually I'm fine if she's crying, but the wailing scares me and I get all riled up and tend to speed to my next location. I write this because of my experience yesterday afternoon.

We both got the preservative free flu shots (big sis told me about the thimerosal free ones) yesterday. I'm so glad my ped allowed me to get it as well. I'm such a lagger when it comes to getting shots because of the FEAR! I'm so friggin sensitive when it comes to needles. I got my shot first and had to hold Lila's leg cause I was scared. Really, I cannot stand needles for the life of me. The nurse told me my muscles kept twitching and to calm down. Next up was Lila, and she held up well. Aside from the initial cry, she seemed fine UNTIL we got in the car.

All heck broke loose. Suddenly she just started wailing uncontrollably. I didn't know what to do because I was still a good 10 minutes away. I was thinking about stopping to check on her, but I wasn't catching any lights so I figured I could make it home in like 5 minutes instead. I saw the water bottle in my purse, grabbed it, reached behind the car seat to hand it to her, and instantly she stopped. It was like magic!!!

We arrived home in piece. She was still playing with it even while I was taking off her seatbelt. Kids!

Cruising and babbling all at 6:30am

Hmmm...when was the last time my wake up time was at 6am pre-Lila days? I think it was when I had to commute to Santa Monica from Cerritos. Ahhh...the good ol American Golf days. My body is slowly adjusting to this early wake up time. Hubs is now following in my footsteps and just waking up when I do so he can play with Lila for an hour before he makes his grueling commute to the valley. I didn't realize Burbank was considered the valley! Makes it sound even more sad for him...OC to the valley.

How can one person be so happy waking up so early? She's a handful of energy...guess it's the 11 or so hours of sleep huh?

It's so crazy to think that just a few weeks ago, there was enough sunshine in the morning to walk into our living room and not turn on the lights. Not anymore! I hate the gloom. :(

Hubs caught her a few days ago on camera doing her normal routine. Cruising timidly and babbling (her first word was appa!), and I could tell she's trying to make out some other words. Maybe someday soon it will be umma? She def has the "pa pa" or "ba ba" down and of course, the shrieking!

**I need to do something about the mess. Must invest in some good toy bins or something asap. Is this what happens when you have a kid?

I should be sleeping

My bedtime is being pushed later and later. Why? So much going on in my world. I think I secretly like being bombarded with stuff because it makes me stressed which in turn makes me feel like I'm doing something worthwhile. Does that make sense?

1.) Gearing up for the holidays (lil sprinkles). Thus, making the office/craft room a complete mess. Felt, cotton, thread, INVITES everywhere!

2.) Preparing for the dohl which is almost 1 month away. I'm SOOOOOO behind. Someone kick me in the booty to get going! Banner, cupcake toppers, treat bags, doljabi table...hmmm...what else??? I'm about 80% done with the invites. Yay for completing that!! I'm proud of the invites because I saved some money by doing them myself. Every penny counts. BTW, why the heck are stamps so expensive now?? I spent triple the amount on the stamps than on the invites.

3.) In-laws coming to stay with us for 2 weeks next month. Can't wait because they'll get to see their granddaughter after how long???? They'll trip out FOR SURE! Hmmm...maybe hubs and I can finally make a trip to LB to eat Crab Pot or whatever he's been mumbling about for the past week.

4.) Trying to search for a vacay spot for Spring of next year. We were deciding on March. Supposedly good month for the hubs. Where to go? He hates vacationing at the same place twice, so that kicks Hawaii to the curb. Any suggestions?

5.) Cleaning out the garage and the closets. This is a must as Christmas is right around the corner! I can't wait to finally be able to put my own VERY OWN xmas lights up on my house! Hubs and the FIL will have to help. Is putting them up before Thanksgiving too early? What's the protocol on that?

The end. Need to get in my five hours of sleep before the coyote hollas for me.
