Renegade Part II

Not meant for babies, but here is a pic of Lila modeling the panda bobby pin. I managed to grab a good wisp to secure the bobby pin.

Renegade!

Making the trip to LA this afternoon in mega traffic to set up our booth. Appa has fun plans for Lila this weekend since he has her all to herself...lunch at Portillo's, driving to LA to visit me, maybe swimming (yea right...it takes two people to do that)!

Lots of cool stuff for everyone!

yummy sushi!

It's been well over a year since I've had sushi. Oh how I miss Midori all you can eat sushi in Encino! One day, we will visit you soon.

The fam took me out for bday sushi, and I devoured the spicy tuna, dynamite, soft shell crab, baked scallops rolls like it was nothing. YUMMY! I want to go again! Why did I wait this long to eat sushi??? BF sites say it's ok to eat whatever you want...all in moderation!

Restaurant eating has gotten a little tricky now. No more bringing in the stroller or car seat. Lila now gets to eat in her portable fisher price seat which is soooo weird to me! She's getting so big :( I'm still not used to her sitting with us at the dinner table expecting to be fed a meal.

7 month check up was a good one! Lila showed the doctor she could sit all by herself. Appa was so proud! Kisses all around!

Milestones

I'm back! I have been super busy for an upcoming fair, which happens to fall on a popular weekend. Weekend of a friend's wedding & the actual due date of Baby E. Wowee.

I'm pretty winded right now because I just spent the last 30 minutes (no joke) blowing up Lila's floaty device to take her swimming today. I'm so excited. Will she love it or hate it? The hubs and I have taken her to our pool lately just so she can get familiar with the place. We've dunk her feet in the wading pool which she didn't seem to care for. What gives? She loves bath time. Guess you can't compare the wading pool to her lil ol bathtub full of warm water.

For some reason, month 6 was the month of many milestones. She can sit up unassisted now (for a short period of time). It's refreshing to know she can see life in a different view other than laying down everywhere. She's been using her sippy cup more frequently. We've been giving her the bottle daily now, so she can get used to it while I'm away this month. Yes, I'm going away for a day trip for a bach party! Nervous but excited to see the "outside world". I'll also be at the fair for two days, but I'll be able to sneak in a feeding session since hubs said he'll make the trip to LA to support the family!

Big sis bought her these organic teething biscuits which I couldn't find at my local Target or Babies R Us. They look like doggy biscuits, but Lila seems to enjoy them. Her fave foods are still zucchini and avocado. New foods I've introduced this month are Asian pears, brown rice jook, and next up is cauliflower. I'm not a big fan of cauliflower, but my mil insists she eats it.

Anyhow, I'm off to change into my one piece! I'm scurrred.

Halfway there

to a year that is! Life has definitely changed now that Lila is 6 months. No more quick trips in between her naps without remembering to bring her food. I've transitioned to three meals a day this week. She's not a little baby anymore :( It's stressful enough thinking about what to make the hubs for dinner, and now I need to make sure Lila is getting the right mix of foods everyday. Good thing I took nutrition class in college...the food pyramid is ingrained in my brain.

Her habits and mannerisms are not of an infant anymore. I swear she's said "umma" a couple times now. hmm...or is it "mama"? I can't tell yet, but she's babbling so much now. My all time favorite thing she does now is rest her head on my shoulder when she's tired. My heart melts. I loved seeing babies/toddlers do this to their parents, and now it's happening to me! Big sis has taught her this weird move where she shakes her hands and scrunches her face, and she's been doing this constantly the past few days. Her scrunchy face look while she's eating:

I needed to do some major summer cleaning because our living room was covered with baby stuff. It accumulates so fast...too fast. I'm picking up a jumperoo next week, and I'm scared to see how much space it's going to take up. Her chair just came in, and I couldn't resist doing a separate load of laundry today so I could check it out. Love the new furniture addition :)

No internet = :<

Since my internet went down this past week, I realized how much I CANNOT live without it. What made it worse was that I had internet at random times, and then suddenly my connection would get lost. Frustrating! It would have been better if I just didn't have it all. The hubs said to wait a week, and I was thinking a week is nothing. Yea right, a week is long!

Recap of this week - we visited my grandma at Rose Hills. This was the first time I brought Lila to her gravesite. I always make a note to wear my sunglasses because it's hard to keep back the tears. I'm a crier, but when it comes to my grandma, the tears just fall so easily. We all miss her!!!! If only she got to meet her great granddaughter...one day.

Lila's been a great eater thus far except for butternut squash. Who doesn't like squash especially CCC's squash? I totally thought she would love it because hubs and I ate CCC's squash countless times while I was preggo, but it wasn't a hit. I just pureed some apricots, so I'm excited to see if she'll like those tomorrow.

Bye Bye Bouncer, Hello Saucer! The new IT toy in our household...she LOVES it! Lila thanks you eemo!

On another note, do I cut her mullet or what? Her hairdo is a little tame now. The front hairs don't stand up as much because of the weight, but as much as the front has grown, the back is growing rapidly too. I'm scared to cut it...I'm not ready!

this is how lila rolls...

Just when I started to get some good sleep, she starts to roll. How does sleep and rolling correlate? My paranoid booty can't seem to get good deep sleep because I keep thinking she'll forget to sleep with her head to the side when she's on her tummy. She's been sleeping on her stomach this past week, and I think she prefers it because she knows how to roll from tummy to back. I couldn't capture that on video - she only seems to do it when no one is watching.

On another note, summer time is pretty much here for my community. I've already seen people swimming since the start of May. Gotta love SoCal weather! Since the hubs gets summer hours, we're hoping to make those Fridays the swimming days. Her swim gear:

My dilemma...what do I wear? Stretch mark cream didn't help me one bit during my pregnancy. :(
