Happy Belated Easter!

And to think I was going to try to post once a month. Even that I can't do! I'm even behind on this Easter post that I started on Sunday. Now that I'm working, I'm very selective with what I do during my free time. I barely have enough time to take a shower in the evenings.

I had some quiet time while the girls were taking a nap, so it was nice to catch up on my blogs to see what everyone has been up to. Easter Sunday service was a blessing. The girls had fun in school and got to ride a train and take one small jump in the bounce house. I have a fear of bounce houses that are not fully supervised!!

Here are some recent pics of Lila at school.

From one half day to four full days, my how things have changed! She seems to be having a blast. Her fave part of school is the activity art table and going to the library. I'm such a bad mom though. I return the books late...go figure since I have all these late fines on my library card.

Anyhow, so now the big question that I get asked is, "How is work?"..and my response is always, it's fine. However, if I really contemplate on how work is, it's actually pretty great in comparison to my previous jobs. A 15-20 minute commute in the morning, my own office (just moved in on Good Friday!), flexible hours, NO MORE MONTH END OR YEAR END CLOSE!!! Woohoo to that! Though I do miss the days when I see these crazy munchkins 24/7...

Till my next post...

Can't believe the kiddos are all growing up!

Love you girls!

Lately

I'm back again! I have pics galore and an update on what we've been up to! Lila started drop off preschool at Eastside Christian Preschool which is about five minutes away from us. We've trying it out once a week to transition her full time or part time (part time, I'm hoping!!) before the dreaded moment I have to go back to working. Lila did great the first day and didn't even shed a tear. I want to say the reason is because she's attending school with her buddy Emi! We hear they get into mischief, but they are the youngest ones there so they have some growing up to do and learning from the big kids. The second week was hard, and she cried and became all dramatic. I called the Director when I got home, and she said Lila was fine and was painting with Emi. How soon they forget!!! I got our first set of pics from school for what they've been up to for September!

The school is growing an organic vegetable garden, and the kids are learning about the whole process. I'm excited for her to learn, and I'm LOVING the quiet time at home. It's nice to just have a few hours alone with Tabs and to get some work done around the house. I already have a routine down - get my grocery shopping done, go home and do the dishes, throw in a load of laundry, start prepping for dinner, and have time to watch a tivo'd show. Doesn't sound like fun, but just being able to do things like this without being interrupted is quite nice. While I'm busy doing all of this, Tabs is busy taking her morning nap. She's so easy going and just follows along with Lila's schedule. I mean she's forced to, but honestly I don't have to worry about her eating or taking the bottle or sleeping. On the flip side, she's such the curious little one crawling from one place to another and getting into everything. I really have to watch her. I've already had to take out pieces of our rug and paper and crayons from her mouth. It doesn't matter what she finds, she will stick it in her mouth!

3-0 is the new 20!!!

long time! i decided to get back into blogging again. life has been crazy here. lilsprinkles has consumed my days and nights. if you're reading this, and you have nothing to do the weekend of july 16th, come to the renegade fair! it's going to be at the la state historic park.

i wanted to remember this crazy day, so i decided to blog about it! i turned 30 today. yay! NOT! actually it doesn't matter to me. it doesn't feel any different. i still feel young. i'm going to feel even younger this weekend when i celebrate with my girlfriends. :-) my body feels the pain of being one year older though. i cannot lose the last several pounds for the life of me!

sooo...what did i do today to celebrate this big day? my sis took me out to eat lunch at our fave buffet - VIP. lila had a meltdown and tabs had one too because she heard lila crying. it was a sad sight. i wanted to eat a couple more plates of food, but with the two of them crying i had to leave. i guess it was a blessing in disguise. i saved myself from eating another 1000+ calories of unhealthy food. the hubs said he would be home late tonight, so he told me to treat myself to something good to eat. hmmmm...suhlungtang sounded so good to me, esp in this 85 degree weather. i packed up the kids in the car, got to the restaurant, ergo'd tabs, waited for 10 minutes in a non-air conditioned restaurant, took lila to go pee pee in the bathroom (remember i'm still attached to tabs), and to top it off, the suhlungtang was not good. today was just a bad day of eating for me, and i love to eat.

anyways, i have updates with pics!!

almost potty trained! the past two nights have been a big breakthrough with dry diapers!

tabs at 7 mo. happy baby for sure! she's worm crawling!

lila insists on going inside the crib after tabs wakes up. it's a cute sight to see. this makes me want them to share a room!

k, till next time!

Easter!

We had to visit the Easter bunny this year! Contemplated on whether or not Tabi needed an Easter bunny pic, and I had to do it since Lila got one when she was her age at 4 months.

My how things have changed in the last two months. Lila's relationship with her sis has grown leaps and bounds! She'll share her toys with her, say "Bless you Tabi" when she sneezes, and most of all, she'll be sweet to her throughout the day. It's been awhile since I had to discipline her about being a meanie towards her sis.

Loves to pose like this with tabs.

Seriously..she's such a sweet natured baby. It's so fun to see her laugh now, esp when her cousins make her laugh. They love her so much already! It's the cutest thing to see. They'll definitely be ready when their baby brother OR baby sister make their debut! I can't wait!

Happy 2011!

Ahhh my first post for the new year and my first post since Tabie was born. It's been awhile. :)

First off, I want to give much props to all the moms out there. Esp moms of 2+ more kids! I knew it was going to be tough but never did I imagine it was going to be this hard. (To all the moms with a +1 on the way, hehe don't worry, after the first few weeks it gets better!) Don't want to scare you guys, but you know how it was with my firstborn.

Lila went into a slight depression and had a major jealous streak once she realized Tabie was not just a visitor at our home. She came to visit me at the hospital, and once she saw me holding Tabie, it went downhill from there. She wouldn't dare come near me. I wondered if she thought she was being "replaced", and that just killed me. Let me tell you, I had some major emotional breakdowns.

It didn't help either with the pain of nursing. I look back and think of Lila's newborn days and realized she was an easy baby when it came to nursing and sleeping. It's the exact opposite with Tabie. When people told me nursing was worse than giving birth, I couldn't relate. Of course, I never wanted to admit that to those moms. They'd prob want to strangle me. But now I UNDERSTAND! The pain that came with nursing T was almost unbearable. I wanted to give up. I was very close to doing that until I went to St. Jude Wellness Center to see their Lactaction Consultant. T was not latching on properly. It was such a poor latch that I already formed two big blisters on my you know what. After a few days of just keeping at it and clenching my teeth, my blisters soon healed and bf became painless.

The sleep is another story. Lila was a eat and sleep kind of gal. Hardly ever woke up crying at night. Never made a peep. T on the otherhand loves to hear her own voice. She is still on Zantac for reflux, but it definitely is getting better. I've been on many forums to see what other parents say about grunting children in the wee hours of the morning, and they all say their children grow out of it around 2-4 months old. Crossing my fingers that I won't have to stay up from 3-6am any longer. I'll prob look back at this post when T's one year old and wish I back at this stage. They do grow up so fast. I can't believe she's already 7 weeks old!

As far as Lila's and Tabie's relationship goes, T is still caged in her area. Lila made huge progress though, and I can see that she understands when it's T's time to eat. It used to be a big deal when it came time for her feedings. I needed to make sure I had the remote handy, a new toy out (new doesn't mean "new" but it means that I've put away an old toy of hers and I'm bringing it back out after a week or so), or a snack at her side. Just thinking how it was during the first week and how it is now, it's a HUGE difference. A good difference. Slowly but surely they'll be bffs, right!?

See...

Turquoise, pink, and yellow

The colors for baby #2's room. Hello again! I've been neglecting my personal blog. :/

With every spare minute I have, I've been consumed with gathering ideas for redecorating not only Lila's room, but baby #2's room, and the office/guest room. The hubs is freaking out that I'm going to spend all this money, but I promised him I would be doing it on a budget. It's kinda fun to do things on a budget anyways. Makes me appreciate all the hard work. What I'm hating is that I can't do things on my own - like picking up furniture and moving things around OR painting OR hanging stuff on the walls. I guess I can do the latter, but I've been getting light headed these days. My excuse!

Seriously, preg #2 is soooooo different from the first! Who knew? Esp cause I'm having another girl again!

My first purchase was this lamp base from PBteen (on sale now!):

Imagine cute vintage baby blocks inside? I love the idea that I can replace whatever goes inside as my kids get older.

I have an ivory colored lamp shade that has been sitting in my garage. I'm hoping I can spruce it up by adding some ribbon or fabric to it.

Anyhow, my journey to decorating will be posted on the lil sprinkles blog, so find me there folks!

I finally found his twin

I've never been a Dancing with the Stars fan. I'm a huge reality tv show junkie, but for some reason I never got into DWTS. I got sucked in this season...maybe because I wanted to see Kate Gosselin fail or maybe because I had a secret crush on Evan Lysacek!

Every time I saw Evan dance, I kept thinking to myself that he reminded me of someone. It finally clicked today! Hello, Lee Min Ho from F4!!!! I'm watching yet another K Drama, Personal Preference, which features Lee Min Ho. Still hot as ever. :P

Do you see the resemblance or it just me?

A better pic of Evan...

Drool. Is he gay??

I will forever be a teeny bopper.

happy birthday to the twinsies

We had a blast at their birthday party at Fun City. It was so crazy and hectic, I didn't even get a picture of the twins. :(

Since it was her second time here, I'm assuming that's why she wasn't as scared? Maybe she remembered the slides? She had to because she went down the monstrous one like 5 or 6x. Even my mom took her down on one of the slides.

sis friend taking her down the slide...

then my sis...

then my mom...

Maybe I need to get a bounce house for her 2nd birthday??? She absolutely loves these slides and bouncers. I thought she would be a scaredy cat!

On another note, she got her first major "owie" this week. She fell down our front porch steps and hit her eye and scraped it. I felt HORRIBLE! I was watching her from behind and thought she was able to go down the stairs by scooting her butt down. She decided to somersault down the steps though. Her first black eye...

Easter

Can't believe a year has gone by, and I can still recall everything that happened in 2009 Easter!

I got to see Lila in action during the Easter egg hunt, and it was HILARIOUS! She would pick up an egg, shake it, and depending on if she liked the sound (I'm guessing here), she would either drop it back down or put it in her bag. No rhyme or reason why she chose certain eggs to make the cut.

"Shake, shake, shake"

She hit the jackpot!

With her unnis

Yay for Spring Break! Time to relax and play with friends :)

BFF

March was a sad month for our family, so when I see moments like this...gosh, it makes me so happy and appreciative of the lil things in life. Here is my "nephew" and my little one. BFFs already! She loves JH, and I'm seriously so grateful that JH is so good to her. He even feeds her dinner while I cook and takes the sand off her feet after playing at the park. Did I mention he's only a fourth grader? That's true family love.

March...a month of new beginnings

I got a job! A tutor/daycare job that is. I will be watching my cousin's kid who is a fourth grader. I'll be picking him up from school, helping him with his homework, and tutoring him in English and Math. It will be interesting! He came over yesterday afternoon, and Lila did ok. She offered him some ca-ca as he was leaving, so I'm assuming he passed her test. I'll find out today how it will be like to have two kids in the house?!! Granted he's old enough to take care of himself, but now Lila won't have my undivided attention. Uh oh.

On another note, Lila has been showing signs of not wanting to take her morning nap. It's been taking longer for her to fall asleep. I can hear her throwing the toys that are in her crib to the floor. Is she being defiant?

Changes, changes!

Disneyland!

Finally sucked it up and bought an annual pass. Cost me an arm and a leg but it's ok. To see Lila light up and start screaming in Small World made it all worth it!

No line! Woohoo. It pays to go right when the park opens.

The moms I went with are avid Disneyland visitors, so they had it all planned out.

Park at Downtown Disney.
Ride It's a Small World.
Give the kids a snack as we head on over to CA adventure.
Get free tortillas at the tortilla exhibit.
Visit the characters...this time it was Pluto. Lila burst into tears when she saw him. Maybe next year?
Catch the 11:30 showing of Mickey's Playhouse.
Ride Heimlich's Chew Chew Train. Did this all in 3 hours and made it back to my car to get free parking. haha.

The dreaded first driving ticket

I went to a baby shower this past weekend, and it was held in a beautifully decorated home. The shower was oh so cute too and the games...TOO MUCH FUN!

So I came home that afternoon and decided I would finally do something about my horrid windows! I bought curtains! I'm SOOOOO nervous because I'm not a curtain person, but I was inspired to take a risk. Then I decided I needed a bench for my bedroom, a vanity for the corner of my bedroom, barstools, decor for my staircase walls, etc. Ugh!

My search has sadly come to a halt though. I got pulled over for the FIRST time, let me repeat the first time ever in my history of 12 years of driving and got my first ticket - the cell phone ticket. I really have to hit myself because I even saw the Oprah episode of how dangerous it is to use the cellphone while driving. In my defense, I was using it at a stoplight to check emails. :/ I always told myself if I ever got pulled over, I would start crying but that didn't happen. I got SOOOOO defensive and this cop was an A$$. He asked me why I was using the phone, and my response went something like this...

Me: I'm so sorry officer. I was trying to lower the volume to vibrate on my phone so that if someone called my daughter wouldn't hear it because it's time for her to nap. (stupid excuse, huh?)

Lila: Ahhhhhhh! Screaming and kicking her legs in a happy way. She was in the best mood.

Cop: She doesn't look tired to me. Give me your ID.

I got so discouraged of my tarnished record that I don't want to decorate anymore.

First week of school

First off, I'm home! Yippee! Paris was amazingly beautiful, but my home is the best place to be.

I was a bit nervous about taking Lila to school the week we came back from vacay, but she fell right back into her schedule. I have to say she is an easy lil girl when it comes to her sleep. As long as she has crib and blankie, she's good to go.

Our first week of school was fun, interesting, and really eye-opening. I predicted Lila would enjoy herself and behave during circle time because she loves music and books, but what about activity time, craft time, recess, and snack time?

Activity time: B+
I don't think she's ever sat in a chair by herself without a seatbelt attached to her. Granted these are tiny chairs but I didn't think she was capable of plopping her booty on and off the chair. She did it though! I give her a B because she still tries to put stuff in her mouth.

Craft time: D
Lila is one of the youngest in her class. Some of the crafts they do are pretty difficult! Can a two year old really glue circles on a piece of paper and use masking tape to attach a stick to it? I know the parents are supposed to do most of the work, but man...Lila won't have any part of it. I won't fail her on this because she will at least sit down at the table!

(Finished craft by mom)

Recess: A+
How can any kid not love recess? She's amazed not by the playground with the swings and the slides but of the dirty ball in the corner or the woodchips on the ground. That's my girl! She did however set her sights on a cute boy. Oh no! Hope this isn't a precursor to what I'll face when she's older.

Snack time: A
So far so good!

I have to make Valentines to give out next week. Exciting! hehe my Lila stamp needs to be put to use!
